My
wife, Al-Hajjah Kathryn Marion
"Barakah" Kiskaddon Chowdhury, known to most
people as Katie, comes from an American family with English,
Scotch-Irish, French,
German and Swiss-German roots.
She was born in Massena, New York, and has since lived in La Habra, California; Sandy, Utah; Perrysburg, Ohio; Grinnell, Iowa; and Aix-en-Provence, France. She converted to Islam in 2003. Katie and I got married in Perrysburg in June 2005, and she now lives with me in Montréal. Katie graduated from Grinnell College in 2005, with a degree in French and a concentration in linguistics. She likes writing fairy-tales, playing the harp, inter-religious dialogue, reading, outdoor activities, and dogs. Praise be to God, Katie performed the Hajj (a pilgrimage to Mecca and several nearby sites) in January 2006 (Dhu 'l-Hijjah 1426). |
