IN THE NAME OF
GOD, THE MOST
GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL
PERRYSBURG,

Islamic Center of Greater Toledo
Katie
and I got married on 25 June 2005 at the Islamic
Center of Greater
Toledo, a beautiful mosque
located in Perrysburg,
Ohio, in the
US.
About 90 people
attended, some travelling from as far afield as Singapore and South
Korea.
The wedding festivities were spread over three days. In the afternoon
of 24 June, Katie and I had a civil marriage ceremony at the Perrysburg
Municipal Court. That same
evening, Katie's parents hosted a henna
party for Katie at their house, and most of the wedding guests had a
chance to meet each other there.
On 25 June, in the afternoon, Katie and I got married in an Islamic
wedding at the mosque. One of my best friends, Asif Imran, who lives
with his wife Courtney in Ames, Iowa, conducted the ceremony and
delivered a
sermon. Once the wedding was done and lots of pictures were taken, we
all proceeded to the Oak
Openings Preserve Lodge in
Swanton, Ohio
for the reception.
The following morning, on 26 June, there was a relaxing brunch at
Katie's parents' house, where the guests got to say goodbye to each
other and us. The guests who didn't have flights to catch soon after
the brunch stayed behind to watch me and Katie open lots of wedding
presents.
On 27 June, Katie and I took off for our honeymoon, which we spent at
the Victoria Inn
in the
lakeshore village of Gore's Landing, Ontario,
Canada.
The picture above was taken at the mosque, just after Katie and I got
married.
